Youths from Chikankata district in Southern province, have thanked Adaptive Leadership Zambia for the sexual reproductive health (SRH) programs being undertaken in the area.

Gift Simuchende, 19, a graduate of Nanduba Secondary School says the organization has empowered young people with knowledge to make meaningful choices in life.

“Being part of Adaptive Leadership has helped me to grow into a responsible person and I am now equipped with reproductive health information, relevant to help me choose what is right and wrong,” he said.

Gift says, the introduction of sports in the intervention programs has really helped him to develop healthy habits and improve concentration.

Abinery Kasama is another young person who has benefited from the organization’s outreach programs.

He has attended several intervention programs on sexual Reproductive Healthy (SRH), which he says has helped him to be focused in his education.

“I really appreciate the education on sexual reproductive health as I am able to understand the changes happening to my body, this is vital in protecting my health and wellbeing,” he said.

Meanwhile, Adaptive Leadership Turn Pike Sub District Religious and Traditional Group Intervention Lead, Pastor Vestone Michelo, says the organization is using sports to educate young people on sexual reproductive health (SRH).

Mr. Michelo said the information being circulated is age appropriate and specifically designed for adolescents and young people, including those living with HIV (YPLHIV).

He stated that, they are using sports to help eradicate some of the challenges affecting young people in the community, such as drug abuse and teenage pregnancies.

Mr. Michelo said the adaptive leadership sports activities takes place every Monday and Fridays at Nanduba grounds in Chikankata district.

He is inviting all the young people and adolescents to join them during these intervention programs.
